  1. We're proud to introduce MacSpeech Scribe, your personal transcription solution for the Macintosh, running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard. We're demoing and selling the product at Macworld Expo 2010, booth #972, and it is also available for purchase now on the MacSpeech web site as an electronic-download.

MacSpeech Scribe can transcribe your recorded voice into written text with up to 99% accuracy, in a single button click. MacSpeech Scribe automatically creates an individual speech profile, in one of 13 different English dialects, from an initial recorded sample of your voice. A single MacSpeech Scribe license can create and use up to six individual voice profiles, each compatible with these audio file formats: .wav, .aif, .aiff, .m4v, mp4, or .m4a .

    Jay:

Please see my other posts in Scribe. I really don't want to write it again. I also sent an email to your Support address but have not heard back. I have a simple question:

Where do I download the program?

It said it was a download. I paid, have the receipt and product number, but cannot find where to download.

    Thanks,

    Marc

I have the same issue; it shows that I have a downloadable product, yet it only gave me the shipping product information and then charged that shipping amount to the order. I'm sitting here confused in wondering if I do or do not have Macspeech Scribe to download. If "yes", please provide me with the weblink. Thanks! DrPsych

ps...I understand you are literally "backed up" with snow conditions, so we're all being patient on the "other coast".

Do not buy this product unless you have upgraded to snow leopard. While it is surprising that MacSpeech would develop a program only compatible with the absolutely latest (and extremely flawed) OS, that is the case. I installed scribe in 10.5.8 and the application has an X across its icon -- incompatible with this version of the OS.

So now, I need to wait until either Mac or everyone other software manufacturer figures out the incompatibilities with snow leopard before I can upgrade and install scribe.

    Way to go guys.

I think this is a major obstacle to the marketing of Scribe. I too am confounded that they would require Snow Leopard when they must know the large number of users who have not done this upgrade and don't want to. This is like shooting yourself in the foot and head before you start.

    Sincerely,
    Howard

Nope - It really makes me mad. It is rare when you find a program and can recommend it to others, and I was there with Dictate. Now I regret everything I said, all because they misled us, which is pretty weak. I run my own business, and no matter how bullet-proof you may think you are, if you keep screwing your customers, with today's technology, it does not take long for those on the way up, start heading the other way.

In any event, I can;t find the download and I feel stupid for looking. It is obviously not there - and if it is, it is somewhere where MANY pretty smart users could not find it after looking a long, long time!

What is the difference between MacSpeech Dictate and MacSpeech Scribe?

    this was from support:

"If you did not receive a download link the steps below will work if you already own Dictate 1.5, just use the data disc from that. If you do not own Dictate 1.5 then contact Sales so they're aware of this.

    1) Go to http://www.macspeech.com and login to your MacSpeech account
    2) Click My Account once logged in (top right where the "log in" link was before)
    3) Under Recent Orders, click on your order for Scribe and you will be presented with your download link for Scribe. From here you can download the application."

Tags- Dictate is "dictation" software, it types what you're saying as you say it (speaking live into a mic).

Scribe is "transcription" software, you open an audio file of someone speaking and it transcribes this file (types out what the audio is saying)

  11. Thanks for your patience. I apologize for the issue with orders and downloading.

The download links are customized, and some have (obviously) not been created or provided. We are working on resolving this as quickly as possible for every customer, and if you ordered MacSpeech Scribe, you should receive a download link by email once the link has been created.

I have recently purchased Scribe as well as an Olympus DM-420 digital hand held recorder. So far, I've not succeeded in downloading any transcription from the recorder to the software on my PowerBook Pro laptop. Feeling pretty stupid. Can anybody describe the step by step process to do this or recommend a document(s) that contain this information, beginning with "turn on your computer or digital recorder..." sort of like the Transcription for Dummies format. I'm somewhat computer experienced but, for now, seem to require the specific steps including when and how to connect the recorder to the computer and then follow the specific steps to complete the transcription training, and then complete/edit the transcription. My intention is to be able to dictate reports while working into the recorder and then transcribe them after I get home, avoiding having to lug my computer to each interview. I've successfully used Dictate for a couple of years but the lack of support has not yet allowed me to be successful with Scribe.
